چکیده

This article presents a novel control strategy for nonlinear chromatographic processes. A generalized run-to-run control (GR2R) approach is developed for the optimization and control of preparative chromatographic processes. Run-to-run control is an operational strategy that handles batch-to-batch variations and gives good performance compared to the cases where operating conditions are maintained at a constant value. Our GR2R approach synergistically employs physical and empirical models to enable the control of chromatographic processes in the presence of sporadic and autocorrelated disturbances. An additional advantage of GR2R is that it can simultaneously find the optimum conditions and control the process at that optimum in the presence of measured disturbances.

Fault-Tolerant Control of a Nonlinear Process with Input Constraints

A Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) methodology has been presented for nonlinear processes being imposed by control input constraints. The proposed methodology uses a combination of Feedback Linearization and Model Predictive Control (FLMPC) schemes. The resulting constraints in the transformed process will be dependent on the actual evolving states, making their incorporation in the de...

Adaptive Input-Output Linearization Control of pH Processes

pH control is a challenging problem due to its highly nonlinear nature. In this paper the performances of two different adaptive global linearizing controllers (GLC) are compared. Least squares technique has been used for identifying the titration curve. The first controller is a standard GLC based on material balances of each species. For implementation of this controller a nonlinear state...

An ANOVA Based Analytical Dynamic Matrix Controller Tuning Procedure for FOPDT Models

Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) is a widely used model predictive controller (MPC) in industrial plants. The successful implementation of DMC in practical applications requires a proper tuning of the controller. The available tuning procedures are mainly based on experience and empirical results. This paper develops an analytical tool for DMC tuning. It is based on the application of Analysis of V...
